Pakistan’s celebrated MMA and Karate Combat champion Shahzaib Rind has taken to social media to accuse the Prime Minister’s office of reneging on a promised financial package to support his training and future bouts.
🔥 What Rind is saying
Rind posted today on X that **“announced me 5 Million cash and 80 million to support my training camp and upcoming fights it was all lie i never got penny from them”** .
A page called Nukta Pakistan echoed his statement: Rind expressed frustration over unfulfilled promises made by government .
🏛️ Historical context
This is not the first time Rind has appealed for government support. After winning a key match in Dubai’s Karate Combat 45, he lamented in April 2024 that the government’s “bad luck” was failing to support national athletes . Despite victories and national pride, Rind and others have often had to self-fund travel and training.
🎖️ Rind’s achievements
Rind is Pakistan’s first world champion in Karate Combat, becoming Light Heavyweight Champion in Singapore in September 2024, defeating Brazil’s Luiz Victor Rocha . His rise from Quetta to global fame reflects extraordinary talent against adversity.
🧠What’s next?
Rind’s public accusation may ramp up pressure on the federal government to release the promised ₨ 5 million plus ₨ 80 million for long-term training and events. The issue touches on larger concerns about institutional support for sports in Pakistan.
